Josh felt the earth quiver again. “Another earthquake!” He automatically reached out to the splintery walls to steady himself. Glancing up fearfully, he heard the ancient structure groan and creak. Pieces of wooden support beams fell, probably weakened by termites, which were everywhere in the islands. “This whole thing’s going to fall down on us,” Tiffany warned. “Dad’s got to be in here somewhere,” he called back, regaining his balance after the earth tremor. “Keep looking!” “No!” Tiffany called, pointing. “The far end of the building’s on fire! Let’s get out of here!”
