Math 4 Online with Books 4Ed

Math 4 uses a hands-on approach to help students learn more about multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, geometry, and prealgebra. Mrs. Brennan focuses on developing math skills so students can become good problem solvers. Additionally, students will learn about God’s design of interesting sea creatures, following the textbook’s theme, and learn fun games to play that correspond with chapter topics.

Each lesson will begin with a review, either of math facts or content from previous lessons. After the review, Mrs. Brennan will introduce the new concept with a demonstration. Students will need to follow along and solve problems with Mrs. Brennan as she demonstrates the process. After demonstrations, students will have time to work problems independently. One side of worktext pages will be completed during the video, and the other will be an assignment.

• Creature Feature - A special segment that follows the review lesson for each chapter, highlighting a sea creature.
• Math in a Snap - A special-segment series featuring Lizzie, who helps the students with difficult concepts by visually representing them.
• Stay Sharp with Sagi - A special-segment series with Sagi the Shark that reviews previously taught material.
• There's Math in That - A special-segment series to introduce STEAM lessons and show how we use math in everyday life.
• Captain Bailey's Log - A special-segment series featuring Captain Bailey as he gives a report on his quest to find treasure.

Students should review basic math facts and be ready with them in the lesson. They should also have ready the materials listed for the lesson. Students should keep scrap pieces of paper handy to use when working out problems. They will need to complete the daily assignment, which will be the back side of the worktext page for that lesson.

Scheduling Information: 180 days; lessons average 20 minutes.
