The Study Guide
We have sold Bible based literature study guides from Progeny Press for a number of years and have been very pleased with them. Progeny Press Study Guides are used in conjunction with age appropriate novels to explore literature from a sound Biblical perspective. These study guides deal with literature as works of art and philosophy, explain and use literary terms, and deal with plot construction. They dig into why the characters act, believe, and feel as they do and examine what the Bible says in similar circumstances. Easy-to-use lessons include vocabulary exercises, comprehension and analysis, critical thinking, questions on related Biblical principles, activities, plus a complete answer key.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an interactive CD-ROM, which contains a full-version study guide in a PDF format. It is PC & MAC compatible. With interactive files, students now have the capability of entering their answers directly on the computer and saving their work in progress. Parents can also grade the work on the computer, leaving comments and notes within the file. You can also print as many copies as you like for your students. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view and print this file format. If your computer does not already contain Adobe Acrobat Reader or you need to upgrade to the latest version, it can be downloaded free via an internet link included on this CD.
Young Sam Gribley has always heard "The land is no place for a Gribley." He knows his great-grandfather built a farmstead in the Catskill Mountains and then left to become a sailor, so he sets off (with his Dad's permission) on his own to find the remains of his great-grandfather's farm with just $40, a ball of cord, a penknife, an ax, and some flint and steel. Arriving at the old Gribley farmstead, Sam hollows out a tree for his home and learns to hunt, fish, trap, and forage for edible plants. When he captures a young falcon, Frightful, and trains her to hunt, she becomes a good friend and great help in supplying food. After months of carving out a life for himself on the side of a Catskill Mountain, Sam is sure that the land is the perfect place for a Gribley!
This is also available in Book Format.
