The Green Book - Study Guide by Rebecca Gilleland Literature Study :: Elementary

    The Study Guide

We have sold Bible based literature study guides from Progeny Press for a number of years and have been very pleased with them. Progeny Press Study Guides are used in conjunction with age appropriate novels to explore literature from a sound Biblical perspective. These study guides deal with literature as works of art and philosophy, explain and use literary terms, and deal with plot construction. They dig into why the characters act, believe, and feel as they do and examine what the Bible says in similar circumstances. Easy-to-use lessons include vocabulary exercises, comprehension and analysis, critical thinking, questions on related Biblical principles, activities, plus a complete answer key. This is a book-bound format.

    The Novel

Pattie and her family are among the last refugees to escape from the dying planet Earth. And when the group finally lands on Shine, the distant planet that is to be their new home, it seems the four-year journey has been a success. While the adults build houses and clear the land for crops, Pattie and her friends explore the surrounding areas. But as the pioneers settle into life on the new planet, they discover that the colony is in serious jeopardy. Nothing on this planet is edible, and they may not be able to grow food. With supplies dwindling, Pattie and her sister decide to take the one chance that might make life possible on Shine.

    Homeschool Blessings

Recently, I had the great privilege of speaking with 3 families who are considering home education for their families. As I began to plan for that "kitchen meeting" I thought about some of the blessings of home schooling.  The more I thought the longer the list became.
