Algebra 1 teaches students to use algebraic models to solve problems accurately and from a biblical perspective. Mr. Bill Harmon covers topics such as writing algebraic expressions, using linear equations, and describing quantitative relationships. The course emphasizes God's creative design as the basis for reasoning, modeling, and ethics in mathematics. Students will develop tools and strategies to solve real-world problems within a biblical worldview in the segments Real Life and A Brief Word.

Teacher Information: Mr. Bill Harmon teaches this course. Bill Harmon has loved science for as long as he can remember. After completing his B.S. in Chemistry, he returned to Florida where he gained experience teaching a variety of subjects: science, math, Latin, and computer courses. Now he works as a chemist in the Safety Services Office at BJU, teaches Distance Learning Physics and Algebra, and teaches Chemistry at Bob Jones Academy. He completed an M.Ed. in Secondary Education in 2014. He and his wife Mary Ann have two children, Brian and Janette. His favorite Bible verse is II Timothy 3:14.
